About This Program
Latent Hacks is a global open call and curated exhibition program for interactive AI works, operated as a non-profit initiative under the fiscal sponsorship of The Hack Foundation d/b/a Hack Club (EIN: 81-2908499), a 501(c)(3) organization.
Eligibility
Latent Hacks is open to participants of all ages worldwide. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain verifiable guardian consent before submitting any application, personal information, or creative work. Teams and cross-disciplinary collaborations are encouraged.
Intellectual Property & Submission License
Creators retain full intellectual property rights to their submitted works. By submitting a work to Latent Hacks, you grant the program a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- —Exhibit the work in physical and/or digital exhibition settings
- —Photograph, video-record, and archive the work for documentation
- —Use images and recordings for promotional and educational purposes
- —Include the work in curated online archives
You may withdraw this license at any time by contacting team@aq16.org. Upon withdrawal, we will remove the work from future exhibitions and promotional materials within a reasonable timeframe, though previously published materials may still exist.
Content Standards
All submitted works must:
- —Be safe and appropriate for public exhibition (all ages)
- —Not contain harmful, discriminatory, or illegal content
- —Properly credit all tools, APIs, datasets, and collaborators used
- —Not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights
- —Meet basic exhibition-readiness standards (reliable runtime, clear installation requirements)
Program Details Subject to Change
Exhibition venue, dates, prize amounts, and program specifics are subject to change based on sponsorship, partnerships, and operational requirements. Items marked as "TBA," "Target," "Projected," or "In Discussion" on the website are not confirmed. Significant changes will be communicated to applicants via email.
Likeness & Media Consent
Finalists and exhibited participants may be photographed or recorded during exhibition events. Use of participant likeness requires separate, explicit consent. For participants under 18, guardian consent is required for any media usage.
Limitation of Liability
Latent Hacks, its organizers, fiscal sponsor, and partners are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the program, exhibition, or use of this website, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, consistent with the jurisdiction of The Hack Foundation.
